This early piece set out to highlight the grain of the cabinet side panels, but evolved into something more complex. The stand had to be both simple and an expression of skill; the dovetails are really the defining feature of this work.

The cabinet and stand are in English walnut, the drawers use ripple alder fronts on the classic combination of sycamore sides and a cedar of Lebanon base.
